On Tuesday, January 28th, it will play host to the “IWCA Encounter,” an institutional event by the International Women in Coffee Alliance designed to address the expertise, empowerment, and opportunities of women who work in coffee-producing and consuming markets across the crop’s entire and articulate value chain.
Blanca Castro and Massimo Battaglia will moderate program talks and activities, respectively, Executive Director of IWCA and Accademia’s Head of Coffee Research.
In collaboration with other leading industry brands and organizations, such as BWT, De’ Longhi Group, FAO, Lavazza – and members, partners and Chapter representatives of IWCA, all event attendees from around the world will engage in a full day of coffee experiences (welcome introduction from De’Longhi – IWCA – La Marzocco management, thought leadership speeches, coffee degustations, and workshops), to be finalized with a networking aperitivo.Some of the themes that will be explored for the occasion revolve around Intersectionality and Sustainability – The importance of Consciousness (Jessica Sartiani, Coffee Expert Barista) and Providing opportunity to young people in the coffee world by “A Cup of Learning Program” (Veronica Rossi, Sustainability Senior Manager at Lavazza Group) to mention a few.
The following day, on Wednesday 29th, a local Coffee Shop Tour showcasing a blend of traditional and contemporary specialty cafès in the heart of Tuscany’s renaissance city will be conducted.
