Accademia del Caffè Espresso: An Excellence at Out of the Box in Copenhagen 

Accademia del Caffè Espresso is getting ready to participate in one of the most innovative and stimulating events in the industry, the La Marzocco signature event: Out of the Box in Copenhagen on June 28, 2024. This event is known for bringing together the greatest innovators and enthusiasts in the coffee sector.

During OOTB, Accademia will present a series of engaging and interactive activities. The coffee experts from the Accademia team will be on-site for four workshops specifically designed for the event: 

  • High-End Robusta Degustation: Robusta coffee, once considered of lower quality, is experiencing a renaissance thanks to new processing methods that value its flavors. Discover how fermentation elevates high-quality Robusta in all coffee-based beverages. 
  • Caffeine: Coffee leaves, coffee blossoms, coffee cherries and lastly the coffee itself all contain caffeine. Come with us on a sensory journey experiencing the different elements of a coffee plant and learn about how much caffeine they bring with them. 
  • The Perfect Moka: Moka coffee, invented by Alfonso Bialetti in 1933, is a beloved Italian brewing method that has become a symbol of coffee culture. Come and learn how to prepare it perfectly at home, combining tradition and modernity in its flavors.
  • Espresso Tasting: It is often challenging to identify specific flavors in a small and compact beverage like an espresso. During this activity, three espressos will be served alongside complementary food items to highlight and create a harmonious combination that enhances the sensory experience. 
  • Tea Evaluation: experience an immersive journey into the world of tea with the European Specialty Tea Association’s professional tea evaluation workshop. Learn to discern the characteristics of dry tea leaves, unravel complex aromas, analyze the essence and hue of the liquor, savor nuanced flavors, and examine the post-infusion state of the leaves.

Accademia will be taking part not only at Out of the Box, but also at World of Coffee, thanks to the presence of Massimo Battaglia, leader of coffee research at Accademia. Battaglia will have two speeches, both at OOTB and WOC, on the ConSenso project, an innovative remote monitoring system that checks the health state of coffee plants in Tanzania. Thanks to information gathered from over 50 sensors and a weather station, the project allows understanding the real needs of the plants and adapting agricultural practices, irrigation, and treatments accordingly. This approach optimizes the use of water and resources, improving plant health and cultivation sustainability. 

The Accademia team will also be at Toddy’s stand during the World of Coffee in Copenhagen. Scheduled for Saturday, June 29, from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm, at stand EB-002 in the BELLA CENTER COPENHAGEN, we will serve an exclusive Cold Brew made with Uraga Raro coffee roasted by Marco Purini at Accademia, accompanied by a refined mocktail “Raspberry Buzz.” 

Accademia also ventures into a new world all-digital, offering the opportunity to visit our destination located in Florence directly from Copenhagen, thanks to a virtual reality headset and the presence of the entire Accademia structure within the Metaverse. 

Participation in Out of the Box and World of Coffee is a testament to Accademia’s dedication to celebrating and spreading the culture of coffee in all its forms, combining tradition and innovation in a journey of excellence and passion.
