In its hometown of Florence, La Marzocco – and flagship culture center Accademia del Caffè Espresso – join in the celebration of “SALE – Sant’Ambrogio in Festival”, a 3-day neighborhood feast, promoted by Tuscan establishment, Cibreo.

Cibreo was founded by legendary Fabio Picchi (author of numerous acclaimed cookbooks) and is now managed by his artist and entrepreneur son Giulio, who currently runs what is known today as a gourmet brand and agglomerate of Florentine restaurants in the Sant’Ambrogio district, including a local cafè, a food court and a Performance and Arts Academy and Theater. Alongside Cibreo staff and local bottega’s and institutions, we welcome next weekend’s visitors (May 30 – June 2) to take part in Festival del Sale and the varied lectures and workshops revolving around coffee culture, craft and sustainability.

The event “SALE” aspires to be a great party for the area, its citizens and tourists, enriched with activities involving many artisanal shops and realities in the neighbourhood: artisans, artists, concerts and conviviality; workshops, experiences and formative moments – all this will be open to all. The theatre’s auditorium will also play host to the presence of Accademia del Caffè Espresso, which will present its edutainment content throughout Saturday. In the morning, there will be workshops dedicated to espresso brewing, to the perfect moka and to latte art; in the afternoon, there will be two free talks to illustrate Accademia’s projects to the general public: Coffee Migrant | Migrant Coffee and the ConSenso & Sustainability projects.
To conclude, the day of Sunday will involve two convivial moments: “Il Ballo del Sale” (The Salt Dance), a summer dance party with a stage, an orchestra and music and “Sant’Ambrogio a Tavola” (Sant’Ambrogio at the lunch table), a charity dinner hosting for 400 people at Piazza dei Ciompi, to be prepared with the contribution of chefs coming from the city’s most important hotels (among others Four Seasons with Paolo Lavezzini, Hotel Savoy, Atto with Vito Mollica, Il Salviatino hotel) – and where espresso will naturally be served on La Marzocco equipment.
