On July 15th, Accademia del Caffè Espresso had the pleasure of hosting 4 world-class wineries from the neighboring Montalcino area in Tuscany for a full day of tours, talks and degustations (coffee, wine, cheese, cacao); an immersive storytelling and teambuilding program to exchange and share one’s heritage, work philosophy and best practices.
The purpose for such visit from the four vineyards was to experience a fun and instructive offsite session during which to gain inspiration and knowledge on corporate and team culture from another Italian brand of excellence from a parallel industry.
That was the case of La Marzocco’s coffee culture and innovation center, Accademia, to be the destination of choice for a day-trip for members from Podere Le Ripi, Mastrojanni, Vineria Aperta, Bakkanali. They are all part of the same family now, each counting over 100 employees and sharing the values of tradition, harmony and respect (for the nature, the territory), human importance in business, innovation and creativity as the highest forms of expression.
Founded in 1997 by Francesco Illy within 34 hectares of vineyards, the wine-making company is located in Castelnuovo Dell’Abate, southeast of Montalcino, and operates upon the principles and techniques of biodynamic agriculture.
Sister-company of the above, since 2022, boasting a 50-year-long legacy and today a Cantina, Relais and Restaurant.
Vineria Aperta
A spin-off of Podere Le Ripi, this hotspot is inspired by the concept of the “third place” – for people to come together, drink, eat – and is housed in a former abandoned place in Castelnuovo Dell’Abate, now renovated through recycled material and furniture.
A project born to express what wine is for the new generations. “Bakkanli is an incubator of talents and an opportunity to unite young people under the same roof to cultivate curiosity and spread passion for the world of wine and agriculture”
